So what are we talking about?
Avatar, of course. James Cameron’s long-awaited movie about a mystical alien planet inhabited by sinewy blue-skinned beings is finally coming to our big screens tomorrow.
For actress Zoe Saldana, who plays warrior princess Neytiri, it was an immediate ‘yes’ to be part of this hallmark production.
‘It’s a James Cameron movie. He does a film every 10 years, and when he does a film, it usually goes down in history as an amazing iconic movie. An opportunity like that is amazing and doesn’t come along very often.’
She added that she was ‘blown away by the script’.
Fantastic visuals aside, Avatar is an epic tale of discovery, greed, love and war.
Rising Australian actor Sam Worthington plays Jake Sully, a paraplegic soldier who gains a new life after he genetically takes on the form of a Na’vi, and later becomes emotionally attached to Neytiri.
