Taiwanese Singer David Tao Considers Moving To Singapore

SINGAPORE: Taiwan’s “Godfather of Music” David Tao has revealed that he would like a change of environment, where he is not hounded by the paparazzi and would consider migrating to Singapore.

Tao, 40, who was in town recently to perform at a local charity concert as well as to promote his upcoming concert in Singapore next year, said that the media environment in Hong Kong and Taiwan “is in a dismal state” and “artistes have had to deal with a lot of rubbish”.

The celebrated musician is a true ladies’ man and has been linked to a string of beautiful women, including models, a television presenter and a beautician. When asked about his colourful love life, the singer explained that not all of his relationships were pleasant.

He said he once had a promising relationship which looked set to blossom. Unfortunately, it was never given a chance to develop due to the invasive actions of the relentless paparazzi.

“I do not let the reports in the media interfere in our relationship; after all, it is still a relationship between me and my partner. But I have no doubt that they contributed to our breakup afterward,” he said.

Tao stormed onto the music scene with the release of his self-titled debut album in 1997. It became the first album by a newcomer to be nominated for five awards at the 9th Golden Music Awards. He has since gone on to release five more albums with his latest album “Opus 69″ released in August this year.

Tao will hold a concert here in January next year, after which he will take a break from his singing career to pursue his interests in film direction.
