TAIPEI : Almost a decade after going their separate ways, Taiwanese compere Huang Zi Jiao has finally revealed the reason behind his high profile split from fellow host Dee Hsu.
Huang said he broke up with Hsu partly because she is too bold and direct, and also because they had differing beliefs, according to Taiwanese media.
The celebrity pair enjoyed a very public romance which saw Huang cohabiting with Hsu for six months. Their relationship ended soon after and they have not spoken to each other since.
Hsu is now married with two daughters while Huang remains single.
Huang insisted that his decision to reveal details of their break-up is not an attempt to ride on the current popularity of his ex-flame nor to promote his new book “Na Ye De Shen Wen Ti” (That Night’s Topic of Inquiry).
He added that his book is not written to spite his former girlfriends.
“I am not attacking or judging anyone, I am just telling a story. I am not their enemy, I am a former lover, I am not that petty,” Huang said.
Huang, 37, added that Hsu would not be who she is today without him.
“When I was her boyfriend, she had just started out and complained that work was too tiring. She even wanted to call it quits but I talked her out of it every time.”
